Arrive at Shimla, from where a representative will help you with the smooth transfers to Chitkul.
Start off this adventurous expedition to Spiti after a short briefing about the tour, post breakfast.
Hit the roads and begin your transfer from Shimla to Chitkul.
Pass through the popular towns of Sarahan and Rampur Bushahr to enter the spectacular Kinnaur valley.
Travel along the Sutlej river till Karcham from where you will take a right turn towards Chitkul following the Baspa river.
Chitkul is the last inhabited village before the Indo-China border and here you can also visit the famous ‘Hindustan ka Akhri Dhaba’ for an amazing meal.
Overnight stay and dinner at hotel/homestay in Chitkul.
After early morning breakfast, you will be leaving for Nako passing through the beautiful Kinnaur Valley.
Take the Indo-Tibet Highway and pass through the Khab bridge that marks the confluence of Spiti and the Satluj River.
The road will further lead you to Nako, the last hamlet of the Kinnaur district.
Upon reaching Nako complete the check-in formalities and head out for some sightseeing in Nako.
Head over to see the beautiful Nako Monastery, situated by the beautiful Nako Lake.
Spend some time soaking in the spiritual vibes as you walk through the hallways of the monastery adorned with colorful paintings and a collection of scriptures (Kangyur) that have direct teachings of Lord Buddha.
Later, sit leisurely by the Nako Lake and witness a change in shades of the lake water as the sun sets behind the mighty mountains.
Return back to the hotel for an overnight stay in Nako.
Wake up early in the morning to a beautiful view of sunrise and have a healthy breakfast.
Hit the roads and just as you cross Sumdo you will be entering the Spiti Valley.
Just 3 Km after Sumdo, take a detour on the right through the gate to visit the 500-Year-Old Mummy in the Gue Village.
You will then proceed towards Kaza where you can have your lunch before heading out to explore Kaza.
After lunch, you will ride towards the world-famous Ki Monastery nestled between the mountains in a bowl-shaped valley of the small village Langza in Spiti valley.
You will then go farther up the valley to the picturesque village of Kibber to treasure the expanses of beautiful landscapes and immeasurable beauty of the snow-tipped mountains.
From Kibber, you will drive higher up to the secluded village of Gette where you can absorb stunning aerial views of Kaza and tie a prayer flag.
Overnight stay at Kaza.
Enjoy a hearty breakfast before you drive to some of the highest inhabited regions of the world.
First, you will be visiting the highest village in Asia, Komik, which literally translates to ‘eye of a snow cock’.
You will then proceed to Hikkim for a visit to the world’s highest post office in the world and if possible, you may even meet the postmaster and hear his stories.
After sending out a postcard, you will be driving to Langza, a village that is home to the ancient Lang Temple which is estimated to be around 1000 years old.
Overnight stay in Kaza.
After a delicious breakfast, you will be retracing your path towards Kalpa in Kinnaur Valley.
On your way back take a small detour towards the left to visit the tiny hamlet of Dhankar and stop by the majestic fort monastery at Dhankar that is situated amongst the rocky spurs and is said to be 1000 years old.
If time permits, do take an hour’s climb above the village to visit the stunning turquoise Dhankar Tso or Dhankar Lake to enjoy stunning views of the valley.
You will then start your journey further leaving behind Spiti Valley and at Powari take a right towards ReoKong Peo, which is the main town of Kinnaur district from where you will proceed to Kalpa.
Spend the night in the beautiful Kalpa village overlooking the Kinnaur Kailash mountains.
Overnight stay at camp/homestay in Kalpa.
Post breakfast at the hotel, you will head towards Shimla, known as the fruit bowl of Himachal Pradesh.
Travel through the slithering roads following the Satluj and passing the rich Deodhar forests to reach Shimla.
Upon reaching Shimla rest in the comfort of modern civilization, with a bag of delightful memories and exciting stories.
